Sati Kund is located in Kankhal, about 4 kilometers from the main city. Sati was believed to have to put herself into fire here when her husband ‘Shiva’ was affronted by her father ‘Daksh’. Kankhal is an important place in Haridwar in terms of the Hindu mythology; therefore there are many temples and Ashrams at this place. Sati Kund and sri Daksheshwar Mahadev temples are the heart of attraction in Kankhal, thus both the temples are necessarily visited by the devotees.
